Get the Gusto

By Heather Bolen

Since opening in 2018, West Palm Beach’s CASA GUSTO has become a mecca for designers from all over the globe, Their atmospheric Instagram page is approaching 100,000 followers. Instagram alone accounts for nearly 80 percent of sales.

The studio offers a mix of pedigreed antiques with custom-designed decorative accessories and bold colorful art. It is the vision of Cris Briger and her two sons, Charles Peed and Augie Briger.

The tableware, artwork, and furniture are designed by the family and then crafted by skilled artisans from the company’s workshops in Mexico and West Palm Beach including colorful hand-painted Talavera ceramics and sprawling framed papier-mâché botanicals, both of which the family refers to as “our version of Mexico.” Other Gusto Collections include renowned botanical prints placed inside custom Gusto mats and frames as well as painted antique furniture.

I first fell in love with Casa Gusto for their hand-made and hand-painted white tole tulips, but everything about this studio is positively dreamy. It’s a design haven.
